Govt to Avoid Raising Ready Reckoner Rate

December 23, 2017

Nagpur: The state government is considering keeping the ready reckoner rate stable or even reducing it further for 2018, said revenue minister Chandrkant Patil in the legislative council on Thursday.

The minister was replying to a calling attention motion mooted by Shiv Sena member of legislative council Gopikishan Bajoria.

“Though there are more number of registrations recorded in the last year after the implementation of demonitisation as well as the goods and services tax, the real estate sector is under stress right now. So, the government will try to keep ready reckoner rate as it is,” said Patil.

There were 23 lakh deals recorded last year and almost Rs 21,000 crore revenue was collected from it.

“We expects more revenue, reaching up to 104 %,” said Patil.
