Mumbai:The residents of Gaothan and Koliwada had a fruitful meeting with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and State Revenue Minister Chandrakant Dada Patil on November 4 over issues of the community.

The representatives of Koliwada and Gaothan Vistar Kruti Samati and Mobai Gaothan Panchayat discussed the urgency to be incorporated in the New Development Plan 2034 — which was accepted by the CM and revenue minister in the Cabinet meeting. They also demanded demarcation of all Koliwadas and Gaothans.

"The demarcation process will start immediately as the revenue department is slated to form six groups, along with residents, to identify correct boundaries. The demarcation process will be completed at the earliest as confirmed by Revenue Minister in the presence of principal revenue seceratary Manu KShrivastav and other officials," said Neil Perireira from Pali Gaothan in Bandra.

The Gaothan and Koliwada citizen groups also demanded that the land ownership of kolis should be transferred in the names of occupants.

"The Development Control Regulations (DCR) will be prepared in consultation with Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) issues submitted by Koliwadas; and suggestions and objections given by Gaothans. No new Constructios to be allowed in Koliwadas, Gaothans till the above is completed and specific instructions are given to MCGM and SRA by the CM," said Pereira.

Crediting MLA Ashish Shelar for co-ordinating with all officials, Pereira added that this will preserve the culture and traditions of Gaothans, Koliwadas and Padas for the future Generations who are original sons of the soil of Bombay," he said.
