Maharashtra: 126 more realtors to start flat registrations at own office

PUNE: A total of 126 developers in the state will soon start registering new properties from their offices, taking the number of builders availing the facility to 198. The move aims at reducing the footfall at the registration offices. An official of the state registration department said 72 developers were already making use of the facility in the state.

The builders ready to join the bandwag on would soon be pr ovided access to the registra tion department software to enable the process, he said.

State Inspector General of Registration and Stamps (IGR) Shravan Hardikar on Saturday told TOIthat they were hopeful that more developers would join the bandwag on soon. “I have also reached out to developers’ bodies to have more registered developers carry out the pr ocess from their own offices,” he said.

The initia tive was drawing agood response, especially in Pune, Mumbai, Thane and Raigad, property registration officials confirmed. Credai national president Satish Magar, who has been carrying out e-registrations from his own office, said there was a slight hiccup as the soft- ware h ad to be updated.

“We should be resuming the process from next week. It is helping citizens as they don’t have to queue up at the registration offices,” he said.

ar Developers, told TOI that they have successfully carried out the e-registration of over 15-plus documents so far. “We are slated to carry out the registra tion of nearly 300 apartments shortly.

There we- re some basic issues as the software has been upgraded, but the pr ocess has been largely simplified,” he said.

Aniruddha Deshpande, managing dir ector, City Corporation Limited, said he was in talks with the registra tion department so initiate the eregistration pr ocess from his own office.

“We are hoping that the department would appr ove the application soon as we have to register nearly 700 units,” he said.
